Attentato in Nigeria alla vigilia del voto per l’elezione del presidente e il rinnovo dell’assemblea nazionale. Almeno 66 le vittime di un gruppo di uomini armati nello stato di Kaduna, a nord del Paese, secondo le dichiarazioni del portavoce del governatore, Samuel Aruwan. Si parla “del recupero di 66 corpi in vari villaggi dispersi nell’asse Maro Gida e Iri di Kajuru LGA”. Tra le vittime 22 bambini e 12 donne. Quattro feriti hanno ricevuto assistenza medica.

Il governo nigeriano ha condannato gli attacchi e ha espresso condoglianze alle famiglie delle vittime. Le forze di sicurezza sono state dispiegate negli insediamenti colpiti.

As many as 66 people were killed in several settlements of northern Nigeria’s Kaduna state as a result of attacks by criminal elements, the governor of the state, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Friday. “Security agencies today reported the recovery of 66 bodies that were killed in attacks by criminal elements on various dispersed hamlets in the Maro Gida and Iri axis of Kajuru LGA,” the statement published on Facebook by the spokesperson for the governor, Nasir El-Rufai, said. According to the statement, 22 children and 12 women were among the victims. Four injured people were rescued by security forces and receiving medical assistance. The Nigerian government condemned attacks and expressed condolences to victims’ families. Security forces were deployed to settlements affected.
