All’inizio di gennaio, i media hanno riferito che l’ambasciatore degli Stati Uniti in Germania Richard Grenell ha inviato lettere a diverse aziende tedesche, suggerendo che Washington potrebbe introdurre sanzioni per il sostegno al Nord Stream 2.


Over 70 percent of German citizens support the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which will deliver Russian gas to the European Union across the Baltic Sea, German oil and gas producer Wintershall, a participant in the project, said in a statement on Thursday, citing a poll conducted by German broadcasters.

Earlier in January, media reports emerged claiming that US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell had sent letters to a number of German companies hinting that Washington could introduce sanctions for supporting the Nord Stream 2.
