The next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will take place in the Kazakh capital of Astana in the last quarter of 2018, the Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said on Monday. “I’m proposing to hold [the SCTO Foreign Ministers Council] in Astana in the fourth quarter of the current year ahead of the session of the CSTO Council of Collective Security scheduled for November 8, 2018. If there are no objections, I, as the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council chair, will sign the relevant protocol agreement of the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council,” Abdrakhmanov said. The CSTO is a regional military alliance of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, which strives to promote security cooperation, including in the fight against international terrorism and extremism.
