Il presidente russo Vladimir Putin è pronto per un vertice con l’omologo statunitense Donald Trump: lo ha detto in un’intervista il ministro degli Esteri Sergey Lavrov. In una telefonata il mese scorso Trump ha invitato Putin ad andare negli Stati Uniti. La portavoce della Casa Bianca Sarah Sanders ha confermato questo, dicendo che i leader avevano discusso di un incontro in un “futuro non troppo lontano” in diversi luoghi potenziali, inclusa la Casa Bianca. “Il presidente Putin è pronto per tale incontro”, ha confermato Lavrov, aggiungendo che non sono stati fatti preparativi. “Ma non appena ci saranno dei progressi – ha concluso -, vi faremo sicuramente sapere”.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders confirmed this, saying the leaders had discussed a meeting in the “not-too-distant future” at several potential locations, including the White House. “President Putin is ready for such a meeting,” Lavrov confirmed, adding no preparations had been made. “But as soon as there’s some progress we will definitely let you know,” he promised.
