Spain’s Council of Ministers will hold an emergency meeting after the the Catalan parliament voted in favor of the region’s independence earlier on Friday, local media reported. According to El Pais newspaper, the Spanish government will convene an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers of Spain later in the day. On Friday, the Catalan parliament in a secret ballot voted in favor of a motion, which declares the region’s independence from Spain in the form of a republic.
