I rappresentanti russi nella commissione russo-turca di monitoraggio sul conflitto siriano hanno registrato in totale 12 violazioni del regime di cessate il fuoco nel Paese nelle ultime 24 ore. Sette episodi sono stati registrati nella provincia di Damasco, quattro a Latakia e uno a Hama. La controparte turca ha registrato invece 8 violazioni della tregua (3 a damasco, e 5 ad Hama). La Russia e la Turchia sono garanti del regime di cessate il fuoco siriano stabilito a livello nazionale e in vigore dal 30 dicembre 2016.La settimana scorsa, Russia, Turchia e Iran hanno firmato il memorandum sulla creazione di quattro zone di sicurezza nel paese nell’ambito dei colloqui di Astana. Le quattro zone interessano le aree di Idlib e parti della vicina Latakia, Hama e Aleppo, il nord della provincia centrale di Homs, Ghouta est vicino a Damasco, nonché le regioni meridionali di Daraa e Quneitra.

Russian representatives in the Russian-Turkish commission on the Syrian truce have registered a total of 12 violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria over the past 24 hours, while Turkey informed about eight cases, the situation in de-escalation zones is stable, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday. “Situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable. Within last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 12 cases of firing in the provinces of Damascus (7), Latakia (4), and Hama (1). The Turkish party has registered 8 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Damascus (3) and Hama (5),”the ministry’s center for Syrian reconciliation said in a daily bulletin. Russia and Turkey are the guarantors of a nationwide Syrian ceasefire regime that came into force on December 30, 2016 and has been holding up in general, despite continued reports of violations. The UN Security Council passed a resolution in December 2016 supporting the effort. Last week, Russia, Turkey and Iran signed the memorandum on establishment of four safe zones in the country as part of the Astana talks on Syrian settlement. The four zones span the northwestern Idlib province and parts of the neighboring Latakia, Hama and Aleppo, the north of the central Homs province, Eastern Ghouta near Damascus, as well as southern Daraa and Quneitra regions. The memorandum came into force at 21:00 GMT on Friday.
