La menzione di una Crimea in “affitto” in un piano riferito al presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump – e riportato dal “New York Times” – che traccia un modo per abolire le sanzioni anti-Russia è assurda. Lo ha affermato il portavoce del Cremlino, Dmitry Peskov. “Come può la Russia cedere una propria regione? La stessa formulazione della questione è abbastanza assurda” ha detto Peskov ai giornalisti sottolineando inoltre che la crisi nel sud-est dell’Ucraina può essere risolta solo politicamente e diplomaticamente attraverso gli accordi di Minsk per il cessate il fuoco.

The mention of a Crimea “lease” in a reported plan outlining a way for US President Donald Trump to lift anti-Russia sanctions is absurd, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday. “How can Russia lease its own region? The very wording of the question is fairly absurd,” Peskov told reporters. He reiterated his earlier comments that the Kremlin was not aware of the plan, reported by the New York Times on Sunday, which calls for the “withdrawal of all Russian forces” from eastern Ukraine and a referendum to lease Crimea to Russia for 50-100 years. Peskov further stressed that the crisis in southeastern Ukraine can only be settled politically and diplomatically through the Minsk ceasefire agreements.
