Nonostante le differenze esistenti, la Russia è un vicino dell’Europa e condivide l’interesse comune nella lotta contro il terrorismo internazionale, per questo i rapporti dovrebbe migliorare. Lo ha detto il cancelliere tedesco Angela Merkel in occasione della Conferenza sulla sicurezza di Monaco. “La Russia è un nostro vicino ed è anche una sorta di nostra frontiera esterna, per questo non frenerò nei miei sforzi per avere buone relazioni con Mosca, anche se ci sono differenze di opinioni. Penso anche che noi siamo uniti nella lotta al terrorismo internazionale, ed è lì che abbiamo interessi comuni”, ha detto Merkel.

Despite existing differences, Russia is a EU neighbor and shares common interest in fighting international terrorism, so the relations should be improved, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday. “Russia is too our neighbor, is also sort of there on our external border, so I will not relent in my efforts to champion the cause of having good relations with Russia, although there is difference of opinion. I think that NATO-Russia act has to stand, has to be respected and thank you [NATO] Secretary General for hosting these NATO-Russia meetings and I also think we also are united in fighting international terrorism and that’s where we have common interests and we have to do this,” Merkel said.
