Il rublo russo dovrebbe indebolirsi per poi stabilizzarsi nel prossimo futuro. Lo ha detto il ministro russo dello Sviluppo Economico Maxim Oreshkin. Commentando il recente rialzo del rublo (58 contro un dollaro) per la prima volta questa settimana dalla metà del 2015, Oreshkin ha detto che il governo giudica tale andamento di breve termine e, pertanto, non ha intenzione di adottare drastici cambiamenti di politica. “In generale, ci aspettiamo che nel prossimo futuro ci sarà un certo indebolimento del rublo, e quindi la sua stabilizzazione”, ha detto Oreshkin ai giornalisti. In caso di un ulteriore movimento verso l’alto della divisa russa, il governo reagirebbe con tempestività, ha detto il ministro. Oreshkin ha poi aggiunto che le tendenze economiche della Russia sulla base degli indicatori di gennaio, discussi con il presidente Putin, dimostrano segnali positivi. “L’inflazione, al contrario, vediamo che declina più di quanto previsto dal governo e dalla Banca centrale. Questa è una buona notizia”, ha detto Oreshkin.

The Russian ruble is expected to weaken then stabilize in the foreseeable future, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin said after meeting President Vladimir Putin on Friday. Commenting on the ruble’s latest upward surge, trading as low as 58 rubles against the US dollar this week for the first time since mid-2015, Oreshkin said the government saw the trend as short-term and therefore did not plan drastic policy changes. “In general, we expect that in the near future there will be a certain weakening of the ruble, and then its stabilization,” Oreshkin told reporters. The government would react promptly in the event of the Russian currency’s further upward movement, the minister said. He added that Russia’s economic trends discussed with Putin, based on January indicators, were showing positive signs. “Inflation, on the contrary, we see that it is declining than expected by the government and by the Central Bank. That is good news,” Oreshkin said.
