Il ministero della Difesa russo apprezza il contributo dell’inviato speciale delle Nazioni Unite per la Siria Staffan de Mistura per la soluzione della crisi in Siria. “Vorrei ringraziarla in primo luogo per la sua partecipazione ai colloqui di Astana. Lei ha preso parte alla prima riunione e il suo rappresentante è lì oggi”, ha detto Shoigu in un incontro con de Mistura. Il ministro ha osservato che la Russia lavora costantemente con le Nazioni Unite sull’intero spettro delle questioni relative alla pacificazione in Siria. “I problemi che vi sono discussi [ad Astana] sono molto importanti, in virtù di ciò che sta accadendo sul terreno e delle cose che dobbiamo fare per promuovere la pace”, ha detto Shoigu.

The Russian Defense Ministry values UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura’s contribution to the settlement of the crisis in Syria, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Thursday.. “I would like to thank you right away for participating in the Astana talks. You took part in the first meeting, your representative is there today,” Shoigu said at a meeting with de Mistura. He noted that Russia consistently works with the UN on the entire spectrum of the Syrian settlement issues. “The issues that are discussed there [in Astana] are very important, because everything that is happening on the ground and the things we need to do to promote peace,” Shoigu said.
