Il ministero degli Esteri russo lancerà una pagina speciale sul proprio sito web per smascherare le fake news diffuse da media stranieri. Lo ha detto la portavoce del ministero, Maria Zakharova. “Lanceremo un progetto sul sito web del ministero degli Esteri in un prossimo futuro, raccoglieremo le notizie false dei principali media stranieri, nonché le dichiarazioni di rappresentanti ufficiali di altri paesi”, ha detto ai giornalisti Zakharova. La portavoce ha aggiunto che la notizia falsa sarà smascherata, unita alle fonti originali e alla risposta russa. “Un esempio: come si sa, l’altro giorno, i media statunitensi hanno riferito, citando loro fonti, che i servizi di sicurezza russi, la parte russa, avrebbe espresso la disponibilità a consegnare l’ex dipendente della Nsa [la National Security Agency], Snowden, quale dono per il presidente degli Stati Uniti. Questa non è la prima volta che i media statunitensi citano queste fonti non identificate. E noi abbiamo già commentato in materia”, ha detto Zakharova. Il portavoce del Cremlino Dmitry Peskov ha detto in un’intervista con la Bbc a fine gennaio che la decisione di estradare Snowden può essere presa solo dagli enti competenti in materia di migrazione o dal presidente russo Vladimir Putin, e ha sottolineato che Snowden “non è un giocattolo” per cui non può essere “regalato”.

On February 11, the NBC broadcaster reported citing unnamed officials that the US intelligence obtained information that Russia was allegedly considering “turning over Edward Snowden as a gift” to Donald Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with the BBC in late January that a decision to extradite Snowden may be made only by migration bodies or Russian President Vladimir Putin and pointed out that Snowden is not a “toy” that can be “gifted.”
