Orazio Sciortino is one of Italy’s most appreciated pianists and most prominent composers despite his young age: he was born in 1984. The Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico City will host a concert by Sciortino on 23 February. The musician, who also performs with the Orchestra of the Teatro la Fenice, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and with the Teatro alla Scala di Milano – where he made his debut as conductor in 2011 – will perform a concert with pieces by Debussy, Donizetti and Liszt. The programme of the concert will also include “Due valzer per aspettare la mezzanotte” (“Two Waltzes while Awaiting Midnight”), written by Sciortino in 2016.
