Mosca ospiterà una conferenza internazionale sull’Afghanistan con la partecipazione, tra gli altri di Iran e India a metà febbraio. Lo ha detto il ministro degli esteri russo Sergey Lavrov a margine di un incontro con il suo omologo afgano, Salahuddin Rabbani. “Abbiamo parlato in dettaglio delle attività di promozione del processo di riconciliazione nazionale in Afghanistan. Siamo convinti della necessità di intensificare gli sforzi già in atto. E in quest’ottica abbiamo confermato l’invito ai nostri colleghi afgani alla riunione prevista per metà febbraio a Mosca che vedrà la partecipazione di rappresentanti di Russia, India, Cina, Iran e Pakistan”.

Moscow will host an international conference on resolution in Afghanistan with participation of Iran, India and other countries in mid-February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Lavrov met with his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani. “We spoke in detail about tasks of promotion of the process of national reconciliation in Afghanistan. We are united in our understanding of the need to intensify existing efforts. In this context, we confirmed the invitation to our Afghan colleagues to a meeting on Afghan settlement which is scheduled for mid-February in Moscow with participation of representatives of Russia, Afghanistan, India, China, Iran and Pakistan,” Lavrov told a press conference.
