The US border security authorities informed the airlines operating in the airport of the Egyptian capital about the suspension of the US President Donald Trump’s executive order, banning citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from traveling to the United States, Egyptian media reported Saturday. According to the Sada Al-Balad newspaper, citing sources in the Cairo airport, the airline companies were instructed not to deny access for the citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen to the US-bound flights. Egyptian airline EgyptAir received an instruction from the New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport administration, enabling the company to sell tickets to the United States to citizens of the listed countries, the newspaper specified. On January 27, Trump signed an executive order to block refugees from coming in the United States for 120 days; indefinitely suspend the entry of Syrian refugees; and restrict immigration from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for 90 days. On January 29, five Iraqi citizens and one Yemeni citizen were denied boarding a flight from Cairo to New York City by EgyptAir.
