Il premier giapponese, Shinzo Abe è arrivato a Manila per un incontro con il presidente delle Filippine, Rodrigo Duterte. I due si incontreranno nella residenza presidenziale, Palazzo Malacanang per parlare di lotta al terrorismo, sviluppo di progetti bilaterali, infrastrutture ed altri temi di interesse comune.Abe e Duterte si erano già incontrati a Laos nel corso della riunione dei Paesi Asean e ad ottobre Duterte è stato in visita ufficiale in Giappone. Dopo l’incontro a Manila, Abe volerà a Davao, sulla costa del paese.

Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has arrived in Manila to meet with the Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte, media reported on Thursday. Abe and Duterte will meet in the presidential residence, Malacanang Palace, while in the evening Abe is scheduled to fly to the coastal Davao City, CNN Philippines reported. According to the Philippines’ Department of Foreign affairs, during the talks Abe and Duterte are expected to discuss the fight against terrorism, development projects, infrastructure, and other issues Abe’s trip follows Duterte’s official visit paid to Japan in October 2016. In September, the two leaders met in Laos on the sidelines of the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
